Silverado EV (I have a reservation for one)
Lyriq (I'm on the early order list)
Suburban Diesel
Ford Maverick
KIA EV6 or Hyundai ioniq 5
Hyundai Santa Cruz
Toyota BZ4X
Camaro ZL1 or SS

The Corvette (C7) was on the list until I rode in the passenger seat of one. Absolutely miserable experience.
I've seen the EV6 in person and IMO it looks even better than the pictures I've seen of it. Haven't seen the inside though, was just walking the dog in my parents neighborhood and someone a couple blocks over had one parked in their driveway.

We all think differently, as I need to remember. I personally don't believe someone is serious when it comes to purchasing a vehicle when they go in the complete opposite direction. Not always the case I know. BUT, when the excuse sounds like and easy out from the Youtube comments section. "If it had a manual I would", suuuure. It throws a red flag for me. That's just my opinion of course. Were they really cross shopping or casually looking at cars on the net? You basically do the same thing in either scenario but one is more focused. Having said that, maybe the guy actually test drove both and decided on the Civic over the Supra. Maybe..

I looked at a variety of vehicles to replace my trusty old CR-V as a daily driver.
CR-V - another one
HR-V - CVT yuck
RAV-4 - $40K? Its a rav4.
CX-5 - AWD, auto, and turbo
Vensa - I like the styling and great MPG.
Civic/Si - CVT yuck, and I don't want a manual DD anymore. Why are they so stingy with the accords automatic?
Mazda 3 - AWD, auto, and turbo.
Maverick - I'd be too tempted to modify it. If a Maverick ST comes out with in the next year I would have to do some serous thinking.

Now of course I looked at aN Supra, M2 and C7 while I was at it, but then I'd have two sport cars and an old CRV. lol Yeah I looked at them and want/can buy them, but I wouldn't say I cross shopped any seriously.

Good to know Toyota made their own shifter assembly. BMW’s mechanism is much too isolated for a sports car. Hopefully Toyota’s mechanism is meaningfully different.

Well it is about damn time they gave the Supra a MT. No manual E-Brake though.... Not that I will ever be able to afford one, it wouldn't necessarily stop me from buying one. Love the interior.

Big props to Toyota for not giving up on enthusiasts and sports cars. Looking at you Mazda and Mitsubishi. Mazda plz, giv Speed 3 again.

Yep, finally! Really interested to see if the updated diff ratio helps with 0-60 or 1/4 times.

Anyone here have both a GR Supra and an FR-S/86? Trying to see how the trunk compares to each other. I can fit a lot of stuff in my FR-S, especially with the rear seats down.

If the Supra wasnt a BMW parts bin car I think there would have been a good chance we'd see a manual handbrake.

the GR Corolla for example has a manual handbrake, while the rest of the Corolla lineup has an electronic ebrake.

Can you imagine that in a few years, the kids of our kids, or my future kids, will say, as they learn to drive on the BRZ, if you keep it "Pop/Dad, what is that lever by your right arm and that stick in the middle, and why does this car have 3 pedals"

According to the interwebs, the Supra's trunk at 10.3 cubic feet is bigger than the 86's at 6.26 (It helps that it's a big hatch).

Yeah, I saw that, but it's an odd shape (narrow opening too). My grocery runs consist of going to Costco and another place, and I can fit everything in the FRS (with the rear seats down). Given how there aren't rear seats in the Supra, I'm wondering how much more or less space there is.

I'm giving up on getting a GR Corolla, so I might settle with the manual Supra if it can still be a good daily driver.

My quick Googling doesn't reveal cargo volume of the 86 w/seats folded, but I can't imagine it's much more than the Supra. While the Supra's trunk is a bit oddly shaped, I'd think loading bulky stuff might be easier because you can go up a bit whereas the 86 is limited by the opening size (which appears smaller on the new one vs the older).

Like, I bet you could still fit four wheels and a jack in a Supra, they'd just be stacked on top of one another instead of side by side.

It's only a limitation from the back, since you can put things in the front and stack it up. We haven't had any GEN2 examples yet, but lots of examples of what you can get in a GEN1 here.
