So I understand the fact that new leglislation is making DRL (Daytime running lights) mandatory on all new type-approved UK vehicles (Dont know if this is the case with US as well?)
I also understand the desire to use LEDs for their lower power consumption and hence reduced fuel use... BUT I dont know why everyone is trying to make the front of their cars looks like bloody Audis. FFS it would be quite easy for manufacturers to stick an LED based bulb in their standard or slightly modified regular headlights for the DRL function without slapping a mass of super bright chav-lights all over the front of the car. |

For me its lost the wrap around visor style of the windows. Maybe its the roofline or the color idk... I think its just lost something from the original.
Would be good to get some new shots of it without the artificial lighting. Some of the lines are just lost with all the lights against the black colour. |

As for the car, I think it's an extreme of what can be possible for the car, and we'll end up with a nice in-between of the mk.i and mk.ii EDIT :: before I left for lunch (about 10 min ago) we had 4660+ users online here on FT86club.com browsing the general forums, it is now 10:23 and we have 4356 users online. Go Forum go!

Hachiroku can you confirm if the FT-86II concept is a liftback? From the pics of the rear it definately looks like a liftback as opposed to a traditional boot and that has full of win written all over it.
Also the overhead photos make this version look sinister and that's a good thing. |

Just saw the pics now, and I started running up and down the halls like a maniac, BUT IT WAS WORTH THE WAIT.

yeah i have ta say, toyota's are boring is now "this car is edgy, its cool aggressive, omg it's whack" Well people we're now entering the era where Toyota will have pure "good"/bland cars for mass market of certain models and there will be things like this....edgy, aggressive, progressive. I must say, from a business prospective it's a master shot - you have something for everybody now

Having thought about this again, maybe the hinges need not visible there to the roof, but the trunk is just like that for the Mk I concept so I guess it still uses a trunk (boot). If this was a liftback, I would guess the lines between the window and the panel should be fairly smooth. |

I would love for it to be a Celica-style lift back, but it certainly doesn't look like it.

Not really feeling all the carbon fiber in the front and as much as i dont like the idea of the exhaust protruding through the rear like that i still really like it!!! The side and top views are gorgeous!!!(well minus the side vent)
