Ummm...Polyphony D, can I get the DLC for GT5 please that has the II in it...lol First change for me would be to paint the tail lights with a translucent red. Euro lights = Ricer. |

That is really tacky and ricey looking. It might look better without the spoiler, but the front is too much. Thank god this is just a concept

Here are my observations of the new concept. Some are pointed out by members already but I thought it is nice to collect the thoughts for a comparison:
1. longer hood than Mk I. If you look from the door towards the front, this long hood makes it look like Aston or Corvette (or Mercedes SLR) like. The front line of the front dorr is more vertical down from the A-pillar to make this effect. It seems that the added 3 inches to the overall length is for the front. 2. the front opening looks like the new Evo X (no one notices that?). 3. the LED light is the hockey-stick lights from Audi. I hope they make it as the day-time running light. 4. the side windows are a bit larger because of the raised roof. However, this looks more like the 370Z now. 5. the roof line to the back is similar to 370Z. Someone mentioned this might be a hatchback (liftback/fastback), but I do not see that. I guess there is still a trunk, not a hatchback. 6. the arc of the front wheel was carried over from Mk I. I think this feature will stay for production model. This is just like the ones found in RX-8. 7. the see-through A-pillar is gone and replaced with a more conventional one. So no see-through A-pillar for production? 8. the back lights are changed into something similar to the front, which I like. The little wing is more for personal preference. Overall, this change to the concept makes the car more like the 370Z. You can call it ricer or more Fas and Furious likes if you want but that is again the personal preference. I think that is what I have so far, any addition/corrections are welcome. |

I sure as hell hope so... Maybe that will change my mind about the RX8ish rear end. Now that I think about it, the RX8 has tail lights similar to this as well....Man when will they learn we are no longer in that phase in the tuner industry?Seeing it in the pics it looks bigger than the spec'ed dimensions. Seeing it in the GT5 vid it looks good though. And I'm sold on RED after seeing the GT5 vid. I was thinking viewing the new pics that it would possibly look good in red. After seeing the GT5 video...It was confirmed...lol. I'm going with red production model although my car history is mostly black or silver. |

i agree it looks different than the original concept but its not as different as some of you make it seem. The lines are almost identical, just edgier in places such as the front bumper, which may be in part caused by all the carbon bits that may not even be on the production car. The added led's make the lines much sharper in the front. Only thing I don't like are the Aston vents behind the wheels

Damn it, there's so many ppl here, my pc is freaking out! Took me over 10mins to get here... I'll be reading all the pages when it calm down a bit.
Now after seeing the actual pics... I still think, MR-S & Rx-8 had a sex and what they got is this. Not saying ugly, but I like the Mk1 more. |

I think compared to the current design of pretty much all Toyotas, they have taken a far more aggressive stance and I think it's about time they did so. All I hear is "Toyota has nothing but bland cars" and all sorts of criticisms and now they have something that's a great turn around and most posters are saying it's TOO aggressive. I liked the first concept, I love this one. I'd lose the vents behind the front wheels but other than that, it's great. If they make it close to this, they've got a sale from me.

the first concept looked more refined and i loved it.
this looks like toyoda telling his designers "WE NEED TO SHOW THE WORLD A TRUE CONCEPT CAR! MAKE IT CRAZIER". i'm gonna jump ships and hop onto the subaru bandwagon.
