After running on the Bridgestones for the first time yesterday and taking the top Pax on a sub-par run, I hope those are some sub-par drivers you plan on beating with (yes I'm going here), completely inferior tires.

I was planning on running Rivals at the Pro's this year as well because I prefer their contingency program, but I now realize there's no way in hell I can beat Pollata's RX-8 on anything other than the same cheater tires he's running.

You talking Rival or Rival S? If the latter, have you driven it?

No, but I'm pretty sure it was you who told me I wasn't going to win BFG contingency on regular ass rivals against Bridgestones, and after running them both yesterday, you are definitely right.

Care to share how far off they were? I'm still on last year's rs3v2 and am thinking the bridgestones are at least 7-8 tenths quicker by just comparing competitor times?

Yeah. I got lucky in El Toro that only one person was on the 'stones (and he made mistakes Sunday morning).

If my free tire arrives in time I'll run the Rival S at spring nats. It seems to be a touch slower than the RE-71R, but could turn out to be a ringer on the Lincoln surface only. At least that's my theory and I'm sticking to it, and not because I have a free tire coming or something.

Yup, no contingency for Bridgestone. Hankook is pretty generous but it doesn't matter if you can't win. I agree that the Bridgestones are a superior tire all around. Gives up nothing versus the Hankooks but much sharper turn in and response.

I'll talk it over with my co-drivers again. Am not counting on or expecting sub-par drivers, I expect some tough competition. Initial thoughts were Hankooks aren't as good but we could still be competitive, might as well try to recoup costs. $550 for 1st, $325 for 2nd and $150 for 3rd with three of us running two different classes means a lot of money on the table. Just Subaru is 250/125/50. Losing is $0

RS3 won CS at Dixie and STX at Crows over well prepped cars on Bridgestones, so they can't be too far off. But now you have me 2nd guessing

To be fair, the Justin coned away first place on day 2 for STX. Good luck this weekend, though!

Tried reading the past 10 pages of this thread but, frankly, it's just way too much bickering for me to bother with. Can anyone give me a quick summary on what is going on here?

Are 2014 & 2015 FR-S owners allowed to put the TRD springs on their cars and remain in C Street?

If so, is there any word on moving the RS 1.0 to C-Street since it makes 0 sense to have it up in B-Street if there are C-Street FR-S' running the same setup?

I've been considering selling the car and getting something that can actually be competitive but if it's going to move back to C-Street I may keep it. This is kind of a big decision for me so any input from you guys would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!
Release Series 1.0 looks to be in CS now:

He had a great set of runs but the cone gods did not grant him any favors on day two. Going into Run 3 without a clean run to fall back on really messes with you and your game plan. It's a shame, his day 1 run was pretty epic.

On the other hand, to be fair to the RS3s, the winning STX driver had the fastest time on Day 2, clean or dirty.

Nope, Terence Chang raw-timed a 53.968 (+2) on bridgestones, day two.

Oops, didn't see that. Didnt look that far down the standings. His raw is great, just really dirty both days that sunk his position. Bummer.

In any case, the RS3s had the 2nd fastest raw times on both Day 1 and Day 2, they had the fastest and 3rd fastest clean time on day 2, and was on the class winner. While they might not be the tire to have, it's safe to say they are still competitive.

We still have a week to decide what to run.

Thanks. Looks like they changed it in appendix A as well. Hopefully I'll be allowed to run CS locally at our event next weekend now.
