Wow, just realized Bridgestone's Hebrew contingency rates.... After running on the Bridgestones for the first time yesterday and taking the top Pax on a sub-par run, I hope those are some sub-par drivers you plan on beating with (yes I'm going here), completely inferior tires. I was planning on running Rivals at the Pro's this year as well because I prefer their contingency program, but I now realize there's no way in hell I can beat Pollata's RX-8 on anything other than the same cheater tires he's running.

No, but I'm pretty sure it was you who told me I wasn't going to win BFG contingency on regular ass rivals against Bridgestones, and after running them both yesterday, you are definitely right.

Care to share how far off they were? I'm still on last year's rs3v2 and am thinking the bridgestones are at least 7-8 tenths quicker by just comparing competitor times?

If my free tire arrives in time I'll run the Rival S at spring nats. It seems to be a touch slower than the RE-71R, but could turn out to be a ringer on the Lincoln surface only. At least that's my theory and I'm sticking to it, and not because I have a free tire coming or something.

I'll talk it over with my co-drivers again. Am not counting on or expecting sub-par drivers, I expect some tough competition. Initial thoughts were Hankooks aren't as good but we could still be competitive, might as well try to recoup costs. $550 for 1st, $325 for 2nd and $150 for 3rd with three of us running two different classes means a lot of money on the table. Just Subaru is 250/125/50. Losing is $0 ![]() RS3 won CS at Dixie and STX at Crows over well prepped cars on Bridgestones, so they can't be too far off. But now you have me 2nd guessing

On the other hand, to be fair to the RS3s, the winning STX driver had the fastest time on Day 2, clean or dirty. |

In any case, the RS3s had the 2nd fastest raw times on both Day 1 and Day 2, they had the fastest and 3rd fastest clean time on day 2, and was on the class winner. While they might not be the tire to have, it's safe to say they are still competitive. We still have a week to decide what to run. |
