if youre painting just a kit, then spray can is sufficient. just need to make sure the work area is clean, in the shade, and no wind. the key is doing it in layers and laying it down evenly.

Also take your time and be light with the layers. Every time I've screwed up a paint job is because I got too impatient...

Everyone seems to talking about painting their body kit. Has anyone had good results with 3M wrap? Is there a reason you're not wrapping vs painting?

I think the carbon fiber or SWP wrap would look great

My kit came in with only minor issues from shipping, and some fisheyes and small defects from the manufacturer. I got mine painted to match my 10 series and should have it on the car next week.

Fitment is great! Only thing is, this lip doesn't stick out as much as the FW V2 lip. Still looks great!

Are you guys using double sided tape for the install? It doesn't seem you can use the weather stripping and double sided tape...

i got mine specially because it didnt stick out much past the oem bumper.

DO NOT JUST STICK ON WITH 3m. i got mine and drill it into the front bumper, less than a week later, its ripped off while driving home during heavy storm. got another one and bolted that hoe down with my own hardware.
perfect fitment on both, good quality but like i said, get that fucker on there tightly

Those who painted the lip/side skirts/aprons themselves, anyone painted semi-gloss black? I painted mine flat black before and it was ok, kinda wish it was a bit shinier. Gonna repaint my lip since it faded quite a bit and gonna try semi-gloss black this time, was just wondering how it looks since the OEM STi lip is described as semi-gloss black.

I had to get a repair on the rear bumper after a Prius tried crawling up my tail pipe. I figured if I was getting paint done, may as well get everything at the same time.

I'm prepping a trd replica kit for paint right now.

Front lip: Fitment is really good. Some of the edges were wavy, but a little sanding fixed that. There were also some surface imperfections. I ended up sanding the entire lip surface down to get rid of them. The holes in the fender-well were not drilled so I had to do that. The license plate nuts were also installed in the incorrect location so I installed new ones to hold my plate. That may be a U.S. Vs JDM license plate issue. I also drilled two holes in the recess of the license plate area to bolt the upper part of the lip to my grill. It took a few hours of work but it now fits super tight and the surface looks perfect for paint.

Side skirts: These also fit very well. The front wheel-well holes lined up perfect, but the rears were way off. I drilled new rear holes and got the side skirt to fit perfect with very little effort. I now need to plug the hole they drilled in the rear, which will be a pain. The side skirts also had surface imperfections as well as vertical waves. I ended up sanding the entire surface down, putting on a light layer of plastic putty, and then sanding it down again. I won't know until the primer goes on but they look really nice at the moment.

Paint is scheduled for July 1st.

Bought both the spoiler and front trd replica kit on ebay. Here are my results.

Didn't really take pics before primer and 1st coat sorry. When arrived, it was packaged incredibly secure with multiple layers of bubble wrap. No scratches or scuffs were visible which meant less sanding .

After painting both flat black and ignition silver, I let it settle for about 2 days before installing anything. Here are the parts when the painting was complete. Relatively easy job. I bought all my paint and primer from automotivetouchup.

The spoiler was super easy to install. Literally just placed it on the back and pulled the 3M tape. Perfect fitment.

Front lip was a good fit but not perfect. Near the fog lights, the bumper failed to completely cover the original paint (on the right fog light area of the picture). I fixed it by covering the spot with a flat black decal (the picture was taken before the fix.) Also, on the left fog light area, the lip slightly overlaps. License plate was not aligned but was fixed by simply drilling holes in the proper spots.

Hope this helped anyone looking into baysonR parts. Overall looks great dont hesitate to purchase from him.
