It has nothing to do with trying "to be 18-21" and everything to do with owning a great drivers car. I consider myself to be a "car guy" and wanted something I could be proud of. You may want to take your statement and shove it back in your ass where you pulled it from. /rant bneale

I dont see where you paying for the car yourself has anything to do with a statement I made either but for being able to do that. Calm down bud, we are all here to discuss the AS1 and related topics. What I meant is that the target market, which is 25-35 year olds, will most likely choose a car designed more for performance with youthful aspects; sporty looks, good power/performance & handling over creature comforts like nicer interior, wood trim, park assist, etc. Nissan needs to follow the Toyota model right now. |

no offense but thats exactly what im talking about. its not your fault and you cant see it but you probably dont have the driving experience to be running around in a sports car you can barely afford. on top of that i assume you are taking out a loan so to compound the issue, you are now in debt for the next several years. you have no clue what kind of financial situation you will be in over the next five years or so. its a bad idea. im not trying to condemn you for it. i just want people to realize it. there is this crazy trend in america at least where we are all living beyond our means. just because it hapens often, doesnt mean it makes any sense. you would be in a much better position if you just bought a used miata instead but :happy0180:

if he feels like he can respond as the voice for the general youth, i think i can respond like he is. besides, my response to a post is no more off topic than the one you made in the very same post...but in the end, this is ft86club. the rsx is in the mustang thread and the z is in the rsx thread. on topic is pretty out of the norm

I admit I'm not the best driver on the road, but who really is? I understand your concern about the financial issues and that's exactly why i don't have one right now.I'm saving up enough money to where i can afford to buy, keep, and maintain it. Until then, I'd like to read about the car on forums, help it others who want advice on here, etc. You're right. I'm an inexperienced kid.but I'm not a stupid one.besides i drive stick pretty damn good. I used to drive in the roads in Trinidad which are pretty hard to navigate on if you've seen them. Also here in the states I've driven a rsx and a g37s and handled them both well. W have all got to start somewhere..i just choose to start at a frs instead of a used 350/mustang ![]() Forgive me for going off topic again btw lol. |

If Nissan did build a real competitor it would be awesome. If Nissan can do anything right, it's developing fun-to-drive cars for an awesome value. Has anyone driven the Altima V6 coupe? It's raw, powerful, and a ton of fun to drive. And it's cheap too. The stock SER spec V is a great car as well. It puts great power down, and even though it looks like a prius mated with a dumpster... it's still fun to drive.
Of all the cars I've driven, Nissan continues to make the funnest ones to drive daily. But my heart is in the BRZ camp. I want exactly what nissan can't give me. a 2+2 with RWD that's lightweight. The 370Z is sexy and would probably dominate on a race track against even a turbo BRZ. You would need a minimum of 250whp to compete. The 370Z isn't that heavy for what it competes against. I'd still take the BRZ because the styling is awesome, even though the boxer engine wouldn't be my first choice of powerplants. |
