Red, Hot Lava or Yellow looks great on small sports cars. White looks great on bigger cars like my A7 in Ibis White... Not so much on a smaller car. IMHO.

If you're purchasing a previously owned vehicle, you'd do better to consider more than one specific color.
Be willing to travel. Don't spend more than you should, and don't overlook a car that may be in better condition, lower mileage with lower price for the sake of "that color". Just one man's opinion.

I like the yellow FR-S and the hyper blue BRZ. Get one of those. Get both.

Obligatory statement: It is your car, pick the color that you want.
Might as well throw in a vote for Ultramarine. It is probably not the color your looking for if you want to stand out but I love dark blue cars.

While I like Hot Lava now, to me it looks like a fad color that will be out of date in a few years. Kinda like British Racing Green or that metalflake brown from back in the 80s that you never see any more.
Lightning Red / Firestorm will never go out of style. And there aren't that many of them, because most people find red cars too flashy. The only color on these cars that catches the eye more than red is the yellow on the RS. I've seen two in traffic, and both times there was a sort of gap around them like people give unusual classic cars. |

Some of those fad colours come back into vogue after a while though. Look at the Mopar colours of the early 70s for example. They are back with a vengeance with purple, lime green, bright orange, etc showing up on new cars of all makes now.

To answer the OP's question though, I'd go Hot Lava and avoid Ultramarine if you're looking to stand out. Ultramarine isn't a bad color but it doesn't pop, personally I avoided it because it was too close of a shade to my old Accord |

I personally picked whiteout because white is by far my favorite colour for cars. If you're in North America and really want a poppy, "look at me," colour get a rs1.0. That yellow on that car has seriously grown on me and is the only other color I would consider for this car. Not to mention there are only 1500 of those cars made in North America. Rare? Either that or a bright orange, not the hot lava orange, but a much brighter orange. Dark grey looks pretty good on these cars as well. But white is my personal favorite and receives the MisterSheep stamp of approval.
