As others have said, can't buy before you drive.

One time I went to a Subaru dealership and was looking at a used STI. Sales person said, "Well, we can't let you test drive it, but I can drive it for you so you can see what it's like."

I laughed at him, and left.

Same **** happened to me when I went to Toyota dealership. I was looking for xD special edition for my lil sis. I asked the saleman that I wanted to test drive it. He was like "No, you can't". I was like "WTF? it's a Scion, not a Ferrari". I let him ride me for a few miles, then I told him " Thanks, I'm not interested in the car".

Funny thing was, a few weeks later I went to Nissan and was talking with the sales person and they JUST got in a STI that day and she asked what I was looking for and one of the cars I listed was an STI. She let me test drive it and I bought it that day. They hadn't even fully cleaned it out. Was fun. I miss the STI from time to time

+1, plan to sit on the bubble until at least a year.

Isn't it common sense? Who's stupid enough to buy a car that they haven't see the final ver or even test drove it yet. We're talking about Ferr or Lambo here, it's Toyota. Of course 100% will say they need to test drive it first. Some ppl who wait yr or so it their choice and nothing to diss on. I'll be waiting lil bit too (due to financial thing)... but if I can buy it first yr, I want to.

My answer is no for now, and here is why

I currently own a g37S coupe. I was thinking of selling this car and buy the FT but every single person on earth told me (some are forum member here) that im downgrading if i went with this plan, and they start making me think that they are right, like 3.7 vs 2.0... the 3.7 stock engine can handle up to 600 HP while boxer engine needs alot of rebuild to reach 400 HP.

but who knows, I might change my mind when they release some more info about the engine

And yes I do care about HP (honestly torque more than HP but what ever)
because no matter how bad the balance of the car is, you can adjust the balance the car with high quality after market suspension, sway bars, chassis accessories and wider wheels.

So my answer for "now" is nope

All the 'adjustments' add weight making the car need more torque, and handle more sluggish. There is no substitute for a properly designed chassis from the getgo.
In terms of a good car it's all about weight, and the power can be increased with minimal weight addition.

A lighter car that is set up the same as a heavier car, regardless of what you have to do to get them to the same point, will STILL handle MUCH better than the heavier car, it will still brake better than the heavier car, and it will still change direction faster than the heavier car, it will also be more controllable, both in throttle/brake modulation and in pointing the car where you want it to go.

Almost EVERYTHING is better about a lighter car with the same Power/Weight ratio than a heavier car, with the exception of some specific things like wheelbase (stability), room for wider wheels/tyres, etc., But then, those things can be offset BECAUSE the car is lighter, and has less power (which then requires smaller tyres, etc.)

I think the FT86 will be a much better drivers car than your G37, it will not be a more comfortable or 'cruisey' car.

Im aint saying that the FT is a bad car though,

and please go test drive a g37 before you say that the FT will be more cofortable than g37..

Its one of the reason i went with g37 over porsche cayman and then you come and tell me that a cheap car is more comfort than G37?? LOOL
