i had a 5858 two turbos ago lol. pretty good response and spool from it. Im at 10:1 compression so you cant compare my setup to yours exactly. the only precisions I have had issues with were journal bearings. i alway go ball bearing now. i heat wrap the downpipe, but have not wrapped a manifold on a kit yet.

Oil seeping and smoking in the turbine housing. Even with a good drain line.

Looks to me you are doing things right! I should add "beer" to the list of tools required to our install instructions

Make sure you oil drain line is a straight of a shot as possible and all downward slope. A good catch can/pcv vent setup to help keep crankcase pressure as low as possible

Ball Bearing turbo? If so run a .030 restrictor fitting .065 for journal bearing
