Not that I know of it will change status as it moves around from port to transit I think.

That sucks to hear, I got an e-mail today saying my car is 'in freight', should be at the dealership Friday or Saturday, damn, i'm getting really excited now!

Ya, I hope my car is delivered sometime next week. Just sucks that I don't have a VIN yet

so is a VIN not assigned until the car gets to port? My dealership told me a couple weeks ago that they had a VIN for me, and all I had to do was wait for it to ship..

More than likely Toyota is holding back on shipping and delivering new FR-S's just like what Subaru is most likely doing so they can figure out a fix and issue a smaller recall and keep more people happier. I would rather wait a little longer then have the possibility of something breaking or not work as advertised, and be without a car for months.

Odd... you should have both your VIN now.. all the data should be in the database before it hits port. There must be other reasons on why the dealer hasn't provided this too you. From what I was told and seen they should know before arriving at port

Well, I got the Vehicle Inquiry Report on Saturday, and the Vin was blank. Showed the Vessel name. Looked up the Vessel and showed that it was in port the next day, and gone the next day as well.

I talked to my sales man yesterday, and he said nothing new yet. But that they were expecting it maybe before the 4th, and also that they would have a VIN when it went from Category A to F status

Just found out that the Car went to "F" Status, and should be in "G" status on Monday/Tuesday. What exactly does "F" status mean. I was fairly certain that the car already hit the Port because when I got the Vehicle report, it showed the Vessel name, and looking at the vessel name, it was scheduled in Port of Portland last Sunday(Which it was already there, and left).

Any ideas?

They did say that It should be arriving fairly soon though

"F" status means that your FR-S has been through port processing about is about to start it's transport to your dealer. "F" is a quick term that most dealers refer to being in "freight". "G" status is for "Ground Stock" which is deceiving as most inventory will switch to "G" a day or two prior to the actual arrival of the vehicle, however sometime they switch in the same day.

Mine personally had a port processing date of 6/27 and was switched to "F" on the 28th, expected to hit my dealer between 7/5 - 7/9

Came across on a Vessel named "London...something" so maybe ours were hanging out at port together
