Can any dealership see the status of a car?

I know there are a few people here that work for scion/Toyota. I'm wondering if you guys can see the status of my car that is on order. Or if only my dealership can.

The reason I ask is because I keep getting the answer of "no change" after 2 weeks of being told that it was in the middle of production. I'm not sure how long it takes to finish the car. But just curious if anyone else can look.

Thanks :)

Do you have the VIN # yet? It'd a lot easier with it than without.

I know in Australia we have a website that we can track progress of our cars build date/shipping/date of arrival/date of pick up etcetc, all you need is the batch number...

but this is toyota site so not sure for scion

When do they get the vin number? Do they get it before it hits the port?

If you have the serial number, whether it is manual or automatic, and color, I can look it up.

Serial number is simply a ID given to it before it arrives at port for the VIN. Most of the time it's pretty close to like the last 7-8 numbers of the VIN.

BTW, VIN will show in the dealer inventory system once the car has been processed at the port. Normally the VIN populates right as the car is about to leave A (Allocation Status) and move to F (Freight) Status.

Yes, they can see a full VIN when the vehicle is in what we call "F" status. Close to arriving at port but not quite there yet.

Just found out that it's actually on a boat on it's way to Portland. Wonder how long that takes.

They said they could provide me a VIN when it hits "G" Status in the port.

Unfortunately, I do not have the serial number :(

Tell them to provide you with whats called a "V-SPEC" detail sheet of the vehicle. The VIN WILL be printed at the top of this sheet. We are able to get VIN's on unbuilt units this way. Hell they can call their region/distributor and get the vin that way too.

I will be going in this Saturday to check out some addons, I will see if I can get that sheet.

So, I found out that my car just hit the Portland Port today.

Wonder how long it will be until they deliver the car?

So excited!

2 weeks roughly for port inspection, truck to train, train to depot, inspection, truck to dealer give or take a few days depending on the shipment size and workload.

They must be arriving, because I was told mine came into port today as well, other side of the U.S. though. This is good news! I would ask if they can expedite the car through...I did and my sales manager said he called and told them to put it on the "hot" list (if this is actually true, we shall see). I was told next Monday it will be at the dealership!

I wonder if that is true or not. Lol. Next Monday. That's awesome. Hopefully mine is that quick :D

So excited! Should be in next week. Should the dealership have a delivery date yet, since it just got into port?
