Also can't slap the clear bra on for at least 30-60 days after the repaint either!

Literally every time I wash my car (every 2-3 weeks) or so I will find a new scratch, chip or ding there is no saving this paint.

Either live with it or...uhm...repair it.

Are you talking about the patina on the bumper or on you?

My night at work just got a bit more... exciting.

I kid, I kid.

Anyways, I'm also finding new stuff from my bi-weekly adventures. Just today, I noticed the plastic that holds the turn signals and where the fog lights would be looks like it was sideswiped by a huge rock. Since I plan on driving the car more than showing it off, I'm at the point of not caring anymore. It cuts deep seeing new ones pop up after spirited runs but oh well. I refer to them as battle scars.

Now when I get a future toy (Porsche GT4, Tesla Roadster Sport, the FT-1, etc.) that will be taken care of.

Don't really want a bumper bra either.....not a fan of the look.Nor do I think that the 100+ degree (F) heat I consistently live in helps my case. Has anyone else experienced this and what did you do to help it if so?
Wax, wax, wax. It helps SOME. But wont solve everything. Chipping is normal if you drive a car. Wax has reduced my front bumper chips by like 20-35% in my own made up statistics. Only way to fully reduce is not drive it, ugly leather bra or buying extra front bumper.

Just wax. Cheap man's fix to this. Helps with bugs too. Wax every other week.

Every car's paint is cheap and thin thanks to water based paint (it's good for the environment -not so much against chips).

Yes, yes and yes!
As chipped as I get most of what caused them would have left marks on a tank. The paint on my car is rock hard, diamond like, magical coating compared to my 08 and 12 Lancers. Both of them were blasted to bare metal behind every single wheel after just one winter in the salt and I am pretty sure I had chips from hitting mosquitos.

Just live with the chips. If you keep the car long enough eventually you could just refresh the bumper having it repainted if you want. Virtually all current car paint is the same, some incrementally better/worse. One benefit to a black car is the chipped bumper doesn't reveal a second colour underneath.
