Does anyone know if this will work with the raceseng reverse lock out? On Raceseng's website, it states that it won't work with any short shift kits. My understanding is the TRD is not a short shift kit (doesn't alter the height), but it alters the throw.

Can anyone confirm this?

If you're referring to the TRD US kit which simply shortens the linkage, then yes, the Raceseng reverse lockout will work. If it's the JDM proper short shifter, I'm not sure.

The trans eventually will adapt to some of this notchiness by wearing in. Secondly, you must watch out for the casting of the lower shift linkage as the head can walk the bolt out leaving you with a wobbly shifter. I had an FRS that this was diagnosed on that needed clearancing of the shift linkage to install properly.

All and all, you must remember the TRD quick shift is advertised at 35-40% reduction. The full JDM STI shifter is, iirc, 20% reduction and the TRD 25%-30%. And while the USDM quick shifter is an adapter, the JDM options are an entire shifter assembly.

I did not like the feel and didn't believe the part was well engineered.

This 100%. Bad product.
