This is the only vehicle I have ever owned with ac. So I think it's amazing. Either way no trouble here

Yeah, the A/C in my car is pretty cold - definitely gets cold faster than my old MK6 GTI, which had its A/C condenser in a heat sandwich in front of the intercooler and radiator.

The compressor doesn't work well at idle either. I hold it high when I'm stuck in traffic.

Yeah I know. Was never an issue in any of my other cars that had A/C

I just figured it was because they spec'd a dinky little compressor to add lightness. It's so cuuuute.

Shall I re-ignite the argument where I got flamed for suggesting that you shouldn't sit with the AC on when stuck in traffic or it can overheat the car?

Its cold now. I think the ambient temp was too high that day and I didn't have circulation on.

There's a reason the fans turn on when using the A/C...

In Phoenix, the A/C really struggles in summer (>105 degrees F) if stuck stop and go traffic. However, it's not too bad when the car is moving.

Definitely, the least effective A/C I have ever had in a new(ish) car. Good thing we didn't buy it for the A/C

I thought this was the case as well. The air is cold but not as COLD as it should be compared to other A/C systems. My Celica had much colder air conditioning. Oh well, the 86 is a much nicer car

My take on the A/C is that the whole system was spec'd so the individual components are the minimum size they could get away with for the size of the cabin. The condenser is really nice. When the car is cruising, with recirc on, it gets quite chilly. Idling or taking big stabs at the throttle while rollin' with my homies, not so much.

As a minimalist, I salute the HVAC crew in their choices. It's just right.
