Why wouldn't your key work for your trunk?

Excellent question. It was after a long road trip and my car was filthy, so I'm not sure if it was jammed or what that issue might have been. I haven't tried it since, so I might see if it's working now or else I'll have to go get it looked at.

I have only used the key twice but both times I had to push down lightly on the lid to get it to work.

I've only used mine once in 3 years, and that was within 10 minutes of buying the car. See "First 86 Stupid Things You've Done With/To Your FRS" thread for details. Amusing read if you haven't read it...

Hmm, I'll be sure to try that when I go out to my car next. Thanks

I tried to get mine to work for a while to no avail. It turns out you have to put a shit ton of torque on it to get it to turn, because you only have this tiny little stub to hold onto.

And this is why it took almost 4 hours to "do PDI" when I got my BRZ. All they had to do is throw on my plates and install the auto-dim mirror. Not to mention that I had to be the one to find the front plate bracket that was sitting in the trunk because they wanted to charge me for one since they weren't able to find it.:smh:

Thank goodness I'm done with Clay Subaru. Fuck that place.

thank jeevus i'm not the only one who sees a lot of force needs to be used to turn the key! Thought mine was rusted from never using it or messed up.

I don't think there was enough people who mentioned the button.

P.S. There's a button inside the trunk. Left side, facing the trunk.
