I have an O'Reilly nearby, and sometimes their prices are the same as Amazon.
Also note that it's important to pronounce the name of their store correctly: |

I put 2 layers of Automotive Tape 3M Acrylic Plus Double Sided Attachment Tape OEM 3M part # 3M 06384.
Cut and layered the tape into the recess along the edges of the armrest only. Lined it up on the console and pressed it down into place. I kept the fixings for the armrest in case it moves - hasn't yet. HTH. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

@Surj_brz - Got my arm rest today. Did you trim off the 2 protrusions that sit underneath on the passenger side before taping? I don't see how it would sit flush otherwise.

I installed the armrest today, and after considering both permanent mounting and tape only mounting, I did the following...
1. Remove the armrest pad from the mounting bracket by unscrewing the 6 base screws. 2. Using the template cutout, I located and drilled the three larger pilot holes for the three plastic protrusions on the right side of the armrest base. This helps with properly aligning the rest of the bottom bracket. Discard the paper template after this part as it's not necessary. 3. With the bottom bracket temporarily installed (three plastic protrusions are inserted), I used a punch to mark the proper locations for the mounting screws. Drill those out and insert the rubber expansion grommets. The grommets are designed to expand as you tighten them to the base, thus securing the underside properly. 4. After checking fitment, take Automotive Tape 3M Acrylic Plus Double Sided Attachment Tape OEM 3M part #3M 06384 (amazon $12) and line the underside of the bracket edge. It's up to you whether you want to use one pass or two passes of tape. Make sure to leave room for the rubber grommets around the screw holes. Remove the protective tape to expose the adhesive side. Repeat if you are using two passes of adhesive tape. 5. Install the bracket loosely by placing all the screws through the holes. Once they are all in and properly aligned to the grommet threads, tighten each one going in a circular pattern around the bracket, several times. Then apply pressure around the rest of the base to adhere the tape. 6. Reinstall the armrest pad. It took me an hour to do it properly, carefully and correctly. While the tape should be sufficient to hold the armrest without the screws, changes in weather temperatures will eventually cause that to fail. Securing it with screws makes it solid. Take your time, don't rush. Good luck... |
