if you can swing it, see if rota sells them and how much they weight, you'll certainly feel a difference if wheels are 5 lbs lighter.

Ill check it out. I just love the mesh concave look. I was thinking about the Enkei Raijins as well but the XXRs saved me a bit of cash for other mods.

I've had a set of XXR's on my Trans Am for about 5 years and probably 40k miles. I've hit two curbs and only rashed them. My particular wheels have chrome lips, and the chrome is cheap. It stains and scratches very easily.

Ive had XXR 530s since last January. 1 track day and about 18000 miles later they have not had any structural issues. I did however order Chromium black and 1 wheel didn't match the other 3 in color. This could be on the vendor as much as the maker as well though. They are plast dipped black and I wish I'd have just bought them this way.

I have them as winter wheels.

Also, let's not forget that plenty of pothole damaged/cracked wheels are just as likely to be oversized wheels with really low profile tires.

I'd imagine that nearly anything in a 17" would have much issue with potholes, since there's plenty of rubber and air between the ground and the actual wheel hub. Throw a 19-20" on the car with 1/3 the sidewall of a oem setup? Sure, that's gunna hurt when it goes bang, I don't care WHO made the wheels.

But i'd be pretty surprised to see much issue with any brand's 17" wheel on our car (with properly sized tires) have much of an issue holding up.

I was gonna go 18". I doubt it'll be a problem though.

In my expierence I've had more than a couple sets of xxr's in the past and I had no issues what so ever. Curb rashes them with still no problems. Cheap and inexpensive wheels in my opinion. Also as a side note too, about the "fake wheels" argument, no design will ever be someone's own actual properties, shoot companies even have similar designs that resemble each other, but no one is saying "fake company because since its expensive and probably weighs 1-5 pounds less, it must be legit". Also about the stories about beople having bad experiences with " fake wheels", usually involves unsafe suspension modifications while traveling at a high rate of speed, impacting objects or side walks at high speeds, and user error while driving or assembling their vehicle.

okay...its not just about the designs being copied..it is about the quality as well. If you have a certain budget then you will be buying wheels to fit that budget. Companies like XXR make money because there is a market for them. That doesn't take away from the fact that "authentic" wheels will always be of higher quality. It's just a bit annoying after awhile for those who paid for quality and originality to see somebody with the knockoff lower quality version of their wheel. I'm not hating..I ran varrstoens before..they hold up well for daily use..but they aren't near the same quality of te37s and thats just the way it is

I had a set of xxr's on my miata for a few years before I was able to afford "nice" wheels (picked up a set of work meisters). Never had an issue with them, but I also didn't daily drive that car either.

They're a great wheels for the $$ , had them for about a year ,dd them without any complain. just need to know your road and application. I won't use them for a track duty , but hey Even the $11K Dymag magnesium and carbon fiber barrel cracks too ...ask me how I know that
