Considering they are sedan only,I think the new styling is miles ahead of the old. So is the engine, suspension, fuel economy. ergonomics...on and on. It is a fantastic evolution of the old design and suspension wise the WRX is what the STI was last year if not better.

Only improvements needed I got from the dealer, SRP short shifter and Subaru floor lighting.

If you need more power a Cobb AP flash gets you 298 without bolt ons.

If $14,805 doesn't seem like a lot, maybe knowing that it is over 56% of the base price of the 2015 WRX will put it in perspective.

Based on pricing alone, it doesn't surprise me that those vehicles would offer more in terms of speed and comfort out of the hole.

This WRX will never have the aftermarket support that the twins have, but there will be more down the line. 1st SEMA for the FR-S the most interesting things were the superchargers and turbo setups with no tuning.

In France we have no WRX, only WRX STI, it starts at €44,450, the buyer has to pay additional €8,000 penalty based on CO² emissions, so ends up paying more than €52,000, and that is not a reason of high taxes. That is more than $63,000 according to today's exchange rate. To put that into perspective, in France the S3 Sedan would start at €50,190 including CO² penalty. That is around $61,400.

A friend on here described it as a "shopping cart" hahaha. I think the hatchback, despite not being my exact preference, was hugely superior

The WRX isn't a sports car, I agree. Its a sporty midsize sedan.

That's what my FR-S is for.

The STI however, is as much of a sports car as a sedan can be IMHO, even though aside from the tighter steering gear the handling dynamics are almost identical to the WRX now.

Probably also because of the fact that there's a lot of stuff from the previous model WRX/STI that bolts right up to the new one.

There's a bunch of stuff available though. subispeed.com has a bunch of aftermarket stuff on their site for the car.
