I had a similar issue in the BRZ forum, I am 6'2 240. I took it to an upholsterer and they shaved some foam off and replaced it with memory foam and added lumbar support. We were able to widen the shoulder bolster frame a bit too. Now it is much more comfortable.

Also, don't expect to wear the seats in much, the foam is very hard on the bolsters and very soft on the middle with no lower back support.

That would definitely do it!

Yes, getting that angle right is important, so you can get you knee locked with full clutch depression.

I'm 6'5" 210lbs and fit like a comfy little glove - no issues with legroom either!

The only gripe I have about it is that the headrest makes your head go forward rather than actually resting your head (unless you can adjust that)?

I noticed this today. The shoulders need to be cupped a little. Instead, they feel like they're pushing my shoulders forward. It only showed up as a problem when I got on the highway and was trying to get comfortable.

I love these seats. The first time I sat down into the car (taking it off the lot) was like sliding into the seat of a starfighter.

The seat back bolstering is wide at the top and narrows towards the seat. I'm 5'7", 170 lbs and with a broad back, and I don't like it. My brothers are 6'1" and 165/175 lbs. - they love the seats. Not too comfy for short/wide people, but mass produced items are always an ergonomic compromise. Everybody that has sat in my FR-S (and everybody wants to!) thinks they're great.

Interesting because it sounds like we are essentially the same size/shape and I love the seats.

you can turn it around, so it accommodates a helmet well you can in the 86, so no reason why FRS would be different.

The front seats for me are not working out at all. The base is as hard as a rock and the sides on the back support are putting a hurt on me.

I got wide shoulders... so whenever I sit in the seat, it feels like my shoulders are compressing the center of my chest inward, making it uncomfortable to breathe. Whenever this happens, I gotta bend my seat backwards so it only supports upto my lower waist. First thing I'd do is sell my seats and opt out for a better one.

A lumbar cushion could be a popular accessory.
