Turbo kits aren't rocket science. As long as you have some fabrication skills or the funds to pay a fabrication shop to fix the issues you will run into piecing a kit together, then go for it. I would spend more and get a Garrett GT or GTX series turbo. You also forgot to include the wastegate price.

I fabricated my own turbo setup, money wise its a terrible idea, certainly not why I did it. Your going to spent a bunch of money in shipping all these items from a million different places. Then you will have to buy lots of adapters and things because its not a cohesive package. Not to mention the cost of re-doing things because thats just how custom things go.

I'm not trying to discourage a custom setup but there is an inherent price to go along with it, both monetary and even more time. Your total cost is pretty optimistic, I think you will exceed that pretty quickly.
