At least now we know what to use to strip the wheels very easily.
It looks like there is a lighter gray substance peeling off and the dark charcoal color of the oe wheel is still there but the pics arent the best and should be taken in direct daylight and not with a phone/flash.

That's pretty crazy looking! Maybe you just had a bad batch of wheels with defective paint. Definitely take it to the dealer. OEM Clear coat is tough stuff, hence why people use air craft stripper to remove it.

The tire shine wouldn't had caused this. It seems like a paint defect.Unless you drove through some acid...? (which I doubt)

Won't happen. A warranty claim requires replacement with an identical part and part number.

It's not plastidip. It's the stock wheel finish.

I met with the service manager today. He wrote up a work order but it will have to be approved by the rep. I was told to come back when the rep will be there so he can see it in person... Should be within the next couple weeks. I'll update after meeting with the rep.

Hell yes! Especially the Hot Lava example. Thanks Lonewolf. Bet the brushed look from media blasting them would look even better.

Sorry to resurrect this thread as my first post to the forum, but my new to me 2014 is doing the exact same thing on all 4 wheels. It's a late 2013 built 2014 model. Lucky for me it's still under 3/36 (in service date 9/2015). I'm going to look into getting them covered warranty.

At dealer #1 the bullsh!t started flowing before the engine even stopped spinning. It's a shame entire dealer reputations hinge on a Service Writer. Will try dealer #2 early next week.
