Yes but OEM STI Brembos aren't that good. They're fine, but not $5k good.

I can't find where my previous post is. I have not looked closely at the STi caliper. Is there any chance that they could be drilled and tapped for a bleeder on the appropriate end? Some calipers are molded with the setting there, just not tapped so the caliper can be used on multiple applications. This isn't one of those is it?

I never stated it was worth it. I just stated, it cost LESS than TRD ver.

Don't assume things now

I do need to take a closer look at that. We don't have one in the shop at the moment but I can check with someone who probably does have the answer to this.

btw, you guys are expert in these field. I have a question.

Can an old 4/2 Subaru calipers (WRX) can be used? Also possible to rotate the bleeder up?

Those are a yes because the calipers are not differentially bored. So you can swap sides to keep the bleeder on top and it should just bolt on.

BUT Scooby South just posted that the OEM wheels didn't clear those calipers though on another subaru, which is very surprising.

Still have a lot of work to do before we can consider ourselves true experts but thanks!

Thanks for the info!

You have giving me good info here. I gonna add that to my mod list

OEM stock wheel didn't fit? Like it was too small? Or offset didn't work?

If it's offset, anyone did STi 17's? ('04)

Hmm, well I saw the Greddy car in person and the "Greddy" script appeared to be applied the same as the "Brembo" script would be in an OEM or aftermarket Brembo application, (decal/paint) certainly not embossed in the caliper. They also did not look perfect, appeared refinished to me but this is not a fact, just an opinion. The cast in mounting appears (but may not be) identical to JDM 01-02 STi caliper, which may or may not be the same as an 04 USDM caliper. I am sure a Subaru expert like Drew would know.

'01 STi caliper with clearly offset mounting

Greddy FR-S caliper with offset mounting as well. Beating a dead horse, but OEM brake hose from... Something. (Maybe FR-S OEM hose) The bottom of the caliper shows some imperfections in the paint, could be a sign of them being refinished.

I do not know if the leading piston is smaller or larger, it may not have been a concern as this car was a show piece. It is possible that the 01-02 STi JDM caliper as I am speculating these calipers are, have the same bore or have been modified? I was hoping you were going to give me something definitive, but this still makes the most sense.
