Not feeling insulted and i don't have my mind made up, that's why I asked for comments and an explanation of why square might be better. (thanks alex)
Balanced is what we all want in a setup, an ability to blip the steering to drift and set the corner line, then keep R's off the apex. I'm getting the point that a square setup will keep the balance the car has and I shouldn't lose that so thank you all |

Another data point for you.
I just ran my first track day on my new setup, 18x8.5 PF01 wheels with 225/40/18 Hankook V12 K120, i.e. the new model. Square setup. I wasn't really trying to go fast since my daughter was along for the ride, and I took 5 seconds off my previous best lap time. Granted, I am a newb, but the difference in handling with the new wheels and tires was even better than expected. The 225 is a little stretched on the 8.5", but would probably be perfect on an 8". |
