I agree with Fish Eagle 100%

Oh, and rumor has it that Toyo will be releasing a 2L Turbo RWD hatch
I assume thats where the rumors of the AWD Turbo 86 are coming from...

Not gonna work IMO.
the guys over at crawford will strongly disagree with you. guys testing it on the youtube video mentioned couple times what great car it was after the conversion with the 450bhp. did not lose any of its character and was just better in every regard.

think you can get close to 500 on normal pump fuel. audi is doing it with a 2.0 production car.

Of course they will - they're selling OTT turbo kits to gullible horsepower junkies.

Anyway, I don't want to argue with you or anyone.
Just trying to warn you that you could be making a very expensive mistake...

The guys who tested it do not work for Crawford, and no im not arguing some guys like blonds and others like brunettes. Nothing wrong with that!

I personally would like it because I think it would make a great vehicle with the low GOC and balance. Probably control the power better than most cars around a track.

Anyhow phoned around a lot and there are not many people around who can take on a project like this, so I might actually just have to wait for the 2.5 AWD and then try get a bit more out of it.

thanks for the tips and advice.

"A cast alloy cylinder crankcase, revised turbocharger, new aluminium pistons and an ultra-high-strength forged steel crankshaft help produce (and cope) with the increase outputs."

That's the sort of things you'll need to do to stop your engine blowing up.

I'm with Fish Eagle on this one - the question is not whether it can be done - any platform can be made to produce stupid amounts of power (as an example, a Greek shop CNC'd large parts of an Evo engine from titanium. Made stupid amounts of power, > 1400whp. Cost a stupid amount too).

On that article, bs - those articles are dime a dozen. And the fact that the new released facts from Subaru on the STI's reveals that they will be the 2.0DI engine - I believe it is finally the end of the line for EJ257.

Understand this truth about high power modification. Power, Cost, Reliability. Pick two. And when you exceed stock power massively, you might as well forget about the last one. I speak from experience here running a 320wkw STI, soon to be 450wkw plus - at those power levels, the car moves well beyond a daily driver.

On Crawford, meh. Quirt talks a good game, and yes they do build great engines (on the whole) - but there are other shops, especially in the States, that will do as good or better a job, that will cost significantly less. You're paying heavily for brand.
