Save it for the track. Get your ya-yas out so you know what this car can really do, then bask in the cool of knowing what you could do.

...should circumstances ever require.

I had no clue radar detectors were illegal here in Ontario.

To be honest he sounds like a good cop just doing his job to keep his community safe.

He was a nice guy (OPP btw), gave me a bit of hard time in the beginning as he rightfully should, I'm just glad he was cool enough to let me go with a warning. He even suggested the track instead lol. Next summer for sure.

I saw a mustang racing a corvette so I decided to try and get a better look...by following the vette. Long story short, there was an officer of the law nearby, the mustang ran a light and got away while the gentleman in the corvette got pulled over...and the officer felt the need to ticket me as well....

Boy this just reminds me of horrible bosses

You should have just been like, "officer, this car can't keep up with a mustang or vette, why would I be racing?

I got a ticket last month for 80mph in a 55. It was deserved since there was barely any cars on the highway and I couldn't blend in with anyone around me.

So far so good, but I have gotten toll tickets for being stupid and not carrying cash, and for "blocking" the street during street sweeping day (the one day I decide to park on the street at my g/f's apt), and a ticket for blowing a stop sign... it's called a California roll, officer, stop being a square!

The officer did actually ask if I knew the corvette driver and if we were racing. After a brief laugh I told him the car has, at best, half the power of either of those on a good day. After that he dropped any talk of "street racing". Wait...should I be offended?

I got pulled over by an asshole Texas state trooper who said he clocked me at 85 in a 75. The problem was that I was behind another car that was going 74 the entire time. I asked to see the radar. At first the asshole state trooper refused. Then the asshole state trooper showed me a laser that just said, "BR 16" in the readout.

I said, "This doesn't have a speed on it. You didn't clock me with that."

The asshole state trooper said, "You were in a group of cars going 85. I clocked the whole group."

"That's bullshit," I said.

He said, "Tell it to the judge."

So my choice was to drive eight hours back to Texas to go to court to fight it, spend money on a hotel and gas and probably still end up losing, or pay $175. That fucker knew I wouldn't fight it. The asshole Texas state trooper probably had a quota to fill, saw a red sports car and decided I needed a ticket.

And cops wonder why people hate them. If so many of them weren't just outright miserable pieces of shit, they would get along so much better with the people they're supposed to be "protecting."

You had to drive all the way out there to that specific court to fight it?

Like any profession, not all cops are jerks. It's mostly the traffic/highway patrol guys. Their job is literally enforce traffic laws, which inevitably means writing tickets.

I once had an undercover police car follow me literally after going 40mph in a 30mph zone. I immediately cruised at around 35, but the duo still followed me. Switched lanes and they would switch with me.

Always behind my back. Then, finally, I decided to take the bridge into the city and they stopped following me at the entrance.

It was at night time too...

You're probably suggesting a change of venue. Even if that were possible, I would still have had to drive to Texas. I do not live in Texas.

Not all rattlesnakes want to kill people. Do you want them in your yard?

I worked around cops for ten years in television news, and we had to try to maintain a good relationship with them to be able to do our jobs. So there was a lot of apologizing on their behalf. And yet, again and again we saw where they would lie on incident reports when we had video that directly contradicted what they said happened. We covered cases where they would accuse someone of something when evidence existed that proved they didn't do it. I personally witnessed them escalate situations where they should have been attempting to calm people down. I have been personally threatened with arrest on multiple occasions for shooting video of police in action, in direct violation of the First Amendment of the Constitution those assholes swore to defend and uphold.

Now we have video after video on YouTube catching cops at this crap they've been getting away with for years. Sure, not all cops are inherently bad people, but it's becoming increasingly obvious that there is a problem in recruiting, training and management of police in the United States. Because of the power they wield, all of them should be considered dangerous because you have no way of knowing when the cop pulls you over whether he's a lying piece of shit. Is it any wonder they're so resistant to wearing body cameras? They're afraid of getting caught in criminal activity that, right now, is normal for them.

I went pretty much invisible for years in my Jeep. I ended up getting hit twice by idiots, so when I got my BRZ I opted for the most visible color I could imagine. The Lightning Red has helped keep me out of accidents, but it has also made me a magnet for asshole cops who do shit like pull out behind me and ride my bumper when I have done absolutely nothing to attract their attention other than buy a hot car. I had a cop hit me with a laser, look at it with disbelief when he saw I wasn't speeding, and hit me again with it. I've had cops pass me, turn around behind me and hit me with radar from behind. Because of all this, I generally drive close to the speed limit. And yet I still got a ticket because a fucking asshole cop just decided on his own that I needed one.

I'm now logging my speed. I have a dash cam. And I'm also looking into remounting my cell phone so that I can capture video of any police encounters. Because a rattlesnake is a rattlesnake, regardless of how friendly you want to pretend it is.

Pretty much ANY time you use language with the officer youre going to get a ticket for something.

Bullshit. A corrupt cop doesn't pull over a car he knows wasn't speeding and then give a warning.

I second the Waze app suggestion. It's not a sure fire warning, it has saved me on numerous occasions.
