Most women, and for that matter a good amount of men, don't even know what an M3 is. If you're considering a BMW just for a status symbol and women, get the cheaper 3 series and take the money you saved for the repairs you're going to need. Last car was an E46 M3 and I'll never be buying another BMW again.

if you wanna attract teenage dudes, go for the FRS

if you wanna attract gold diggers and expensive repairs, get the bmw

if you wanna be legit, buy a honda accord. Its faster than the frs, and more reliable than the bmw. Win win

Don't think there are THAT many! Other then some isolated hotspots (Vancouver , Mississauga) still very rare in Canada.

Since the total US cars sales for 2013 was 15.3 MILLON I think there are loads of other cars out there.

Now if you are talking "muscle" cars ya everybody and especially their mom has one!

"Sports" Segment sales numbers (Partial list)

Chevrolet Camaro 2013 (US): 80,567
Ford Mustang 2013 (US): 77,186
Scion FR-S 2013 (US): 18,327
Subaru BRZ 2013 (US): 8,587
Nissan 370Z 2013 (US): 6,561
Mazda MX-5 2013 (US): 5,780

if the original question was should I get a new alfa 4c I would go for the alfa. however there is no better value for the buck than the twins. I looked at bmws. audis etc but the twins don't look like a jetta.

I've considered an e90 328i. With sport suspension, it's a nice car. Pretty reliable too. Just don't get a 335i. Lemon land. 528i is nice too, but it's a big car. Never get a 3 or 5 series without sport suspension.
