I don't think they can regulate the tires in a way that would be cost effective.

In any case, they never banned whistle tips, low riders, donks, rat rods, lifted trucks, or rice. It will pass, I'm already seeing less and less every month.
Nope you only need one inspection for as long as u own the car or unless you get safety laned which is how they will get these hellaflush morons.

Here's the problem I have with it.

Quote:
Lowering the suspension of the vehicle
Installing oversized and offset wheels (offset greater than of the stock wheels)
The OEM wheels are 17x7+48, when in reality a 17x7+30 fits in the fender just fine without protruding or sitting flush. Are those illegal because of the lower offset? What about a 17x9+42 like Rota Titans or Mach V Awesomes? And fenders are slanted with the top sticking out more, does it require coverage at the bottom, or at the top?

Or lowering? RCE Yellows lower the car by 20mm, and by all accounts work much better than the OEM springs. Are those legal?

What is exaggerated negative camber? I saw a Miata at an autoX with what I would consider to be extreme negative camber, but he seemed like he was doing a decent job.

If they're relying purely on inspectors' judgement calls, then that requires their inspectors to have good judgement and no prejudice, which is not something the human race has generally excelled at in the past.

Luckily we have SEMA in the U.S. to fight b.s. like this. Granted some things people do to cars/trucks is unsafe, but this law seems way to vague.

Back in the early 90's, in my minitruckin days, I knew a guy that "skateboarded" his Maszda with 195-50's on 15x10's. He had to use acetylene in a split rim cage to set the bead...way too much stretch, and he soon went back to a tire that fit. I've seen rear leaf springs lowered with a torch...heating any spring to lower a car/truck is unsafe, but a leaf?

I'm writing a letter to my Governor right now to make this happen!

Please WA State, ban this... IT'S FOR THE GOOD OF THE PEOPLE!
