And some of those race cars also have ridiculously fast steering ratios. When was the last time you was an F1 pilot turn the wheel more than 90 degrees either direction?

I test drove an AT and the number one thing I didn't like was how the paddles moved. I auto-x and rally-x all my cars as well as instruct at rally-x schools. I prefer to not have my hands cross over each other when making steering inputs at speed.

I can see that being an issue during auto-x, etc., but it's never been an issue for me daily driving, or in the mountains. Generally my hands aren't moving around the wheel.

I prefer a manual myself, but since I spend most of my time in the car on the phone, or in city traffic an auto makes things easier. I also got a great deal on my car, so I settled on it. Really feel I got the best of both worlds, as I can drive it like a manual or just let the auto do the shifting. I personally like the paddle shifters on the wheel, it does take a little getting used to, but for my driving style it works out fine most of the time. Then there is also the shifter that can be used if the paddle is not right at the fingertips. This car has a great flow and natural feel to nearly every aspect. I know that I love mine.

I prefer them on other people's cars.
