More awkward when you watch the dealership try for 30 minutes to get the car in reverse because they don't know you pull up on the lockout first.

"To the left and up. Check. Wait I'm going forward...let's try again"

yes!!! hahaha freakin valet kid at the dealership almost put my car into a wall because he "thought" it was in reverse, after a few minutes of waiting for my car i went looking for it myself... dont get why they have valet, parking lot is maybe max 30 cars.... found the kid stalling my car..... i "nicely" asked him to get out of my car....

Best one so far, was at a "hand wash car wash". Where you pull up, they take the car, hand wash, wax and vac inside for 20 bucks. Took my buddy's frs since I got it filthy doing donuts. Had 10 people(literally everyone on staff that day) trying to figure out the reverse lol.

I took my 350Z to a carwash. They drove it into the wash booth (hand wash), them pulled it out and up to the bench where they kept their towels and detailing supplies. Then they couldn't back it away from the bench. Each time they would lurch it forward a few inches and stall it.

I finally had to get in and rescue it.

When my cars go to the dealer for routine service I don't give them a list of what I want, I give them a list of what I DON'T want. Car wash, tire rotation and battery testing is always at the top of the list.

Ive never had any Major problems with the dealer, just thought it was funny/dumb that they switched my rims around...and free maintenance is free maintenance so I take it to the dealership..thats normally what people do when they have a new car under warranty

I assure you, the 180$ or whatever it is you save from 3 oil changes is chump change in comparison to the potential headaches you will incur from taking your car to a dealership.

Guess I'm not normal for choosing to do my own maintenance.

As long as my free oil changes are happening that's why mine will go to the stealership. Only reason I don't do my own oil changes besides the free thing is getting under our cars is too difficult.
That and TSB's or recalls. Other than that, I'll take care of it myself

Not trying to argue, but here in San Diego some of the mechanics at Toyota dealership are fellow FRS owners and members of our club and are very trust worthy and even hook us up with deals and info.

I do agree with doing your own maintenance but I also take advantage of whats available to me even if it is only 180 dollars lol

Oh and I forgot to mention I was there to replace my right tail light for the condensation issue so i got the oil change also

So your wanting a toast for wasting your time for no good reason? You think the dealer cares what wheels your running?

Also while I commend your guide on the ease of a oil change without a lift. Around here I really wouldn't save any money by changing my own oil. Even something as basic as Catrol synthetic is $50/case with free shipping +filter. My local and super nice and competent dealer does oil changes on the BRZ for $59.
