This is a tsb for an intermittent idle rpm drop. Meaning it doesn't necessarily have to happen for a tech. This will get you flashed to b01c which not only fixes the cause of the DI failure but has some other perks on top of the a01c calibration. I had this done and am quite pleased. This will not repair any damage you may have already suffered, but it should ensure it doesn't happen again once fixed. Went from 700c to b01c.
Anyone else running B01C care to chime in? Thinking about heading in this weekend for a flash. Thanks!

Wish there's a TSB for global cars. I have yet been able to convince my dealer to upgrade my ancient 700G ROM...

I had the P0351 error after my tune(BRZ Edit). Tuner said it was most probably the coil packs, so I've since changed out my coil packs and also changed out the spark plugs to HKS(since the coil pack had to come out anyway). No problems since.

My car is a JUNE 2012 build though if that's any help to you.
I'd see if you can get the coilpacks replaced under warranty, they are a pricey bit of kit. Okada Projects coil pack set me back almost $1k.
If you DO change the coil packs, and ALSO get new plugs make sure to get Denso heat rating 8 or 9s.

How often are you shifting aggressively (WOT-lift-WOT) through gears 3-4-5-6, shifting at redline?

Took delivery in July 2012 so its certainly an early build date and I only tracked 3 times with the A00C ROM it shipped with, had no detonation issues with 93 octane gas + Torco Accelerator + shifting intentionally slow.

Have been EcuTek tuned with A01C since August 2013 and B01C since last Friday with the addition of a Flex-Fuel kit.

Engine oil cooler equipped September 2013; several track days since.

No issues aside from P0351 once a few days ago when doing 2nd-3rd gear WOT pull for a data log. Haven't been able to replicate since with similar inputs. I have a new revised OEM coil on the way. No other issues.

Good info on here so far guys. I tracked my car 3 times with no issue as well before I got the P0351 code. It seems that the A01C may be the cure. It sucks that Subaru isn't offering it, but most tuning solutions do. I think OFT tunes are based off of it (what I'm looking at). Preferably, I would rather not tune the car and try to maintain somewhat of a warranty but that seems impossible now.

Was this a TSB / recall? Thanks.

Feb 2013 build date, stock engine, no tune, about 10 total track days on the car, no CEL or issues whatsoever (knock on wood).

Sounds like we should have bought scions. I regret this every day.

This was a huge consideration for me when I was deciding. Figured Toyota typically does better for warranty / service.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but pulls are done in a single gear so it wouldn't be subject to the problem diagnosed by Toyota. The injector problem persists when there's shifting thrown in the mix. Going from 7400rpm to 5200 from WOT-lift-WOT results in knock. At the track most of my time is spent in gears 3-4, with an occasional 5th gear straight. So that's a lot of knock.

Just log it and see. I've logged a lot of 2-5 gear blasts to redline in each gear, never noticed any knock during the gear changes if that means anything.
