Congrats! I had a 2009 STI hatch that was the best "jack of all trades" car I've ever had. Solid power, fun at the track, AWD/snow capable, and seating for 5 + cargo. Good cars.

The STI is a great choice. Definitely on my short list. Almost bought one instead of the used 335i Sport Coupe I had. May get one someday. However, I do like light weight, low center of gravity and RWD so the FR-S suits me. I live in Florida and do autocross, no snow and cheap tires works for me. So it works out.

Can't argue with an STI performance wise. In any kind of race, they beat the FR-S.

Personally I plan to do the 2015 wrx in a few years. For the mpg and a/t so the wife can drive. However have fun and enjoy but most importantly don't forget or regret.

Congrats bro! I believe the STI is the only thing I could see letting my BRZ go for, and here you are doing exactly that! Enjoy the car, and PLEASE come back and post your thoughts after you get it!

2015 STi is a Camry on the sides and doesn't look aggressive at all.... I was really disappointed from the concept as of course most concepts are never reality. Regardless, enjoy the car. I'm sure it has plenty of power.

So how does it work with the pre-order wait? Dealer is committed to the trade-in value, but you still drive it until the pre-order comes in? Or you are without a car for the next several months?

They take a deposit, and probably give you a quote on trade in value. Im fairly certain they won't give you a definite price on the trade in until you start signing paperwork.

What tires were you running in the snow?

They gave me the trade-in price and didn't say it would change. Hopefully, it won't. At most, there will only be 500 more miles. I put a $500 refundable deposit on it.
