My experience is that if you fill the car up soon after the light comes on you average about 11.2 - 11.3 gallons to fill up. I have gone longer and one or two time got a bit over twelve gallons in the car. Have never gone low enough to get 13 gallons in. I like that the reserve is a decent enough amount to let go a good bit further, but I do also think about keeping the DI in good operating condition by not letting it starve for full fuel delivery at any time. Maybe it is being overcautious, but I just don't see much sense in pushing such an advanced fuel control system into the area where lack of fuel pressure could cause any problems. There will always be a time where you go further than on the tank than would be optimal, but I would never consistently test how low I can take the tank, at the risk of damaging anything in the fuel deliver system. Just my opinion.

I always fill up right after the light comes on and within 5-10 miles of it coming on. I have put in between 10.02-10.43 gallons every time for Eleven straight fill ups.

I let the gas light come on for the first time this week. (station was closed for the delivery tanker to refill earlier in the week). The light came on and I drove another 12 miles. Then I filled it up at the same station I always go to. Took 10.3 gallons. Sadly I had only gone 258 miles - my lowest mpg to date, though I'm wondering if I forgot to reset the trip on time last fill up. I'm hoping that's what happened. I've been averaging 28-29mpg on the stock setup/tires mixed driving.
