Same thing happened to me, I had to show the salesman how to open the trunk with the key and disable the trunk kill switch... Interesting going into the dealership knowing almost everything about the car and they don't know much about it, because it just arrived that day. Also showed him how to set the RPM shift indicator light/chime and gear indicator.

Makes you wonder... don't it .. ??

Maybe that would be a good post retirement job for me ....and a part time job for you ..... be an "FR-S consultant" for a Scion dealership ....

I knew there was something in the manual that I need to go look up (the gear indicator), thanks for the incidental reminder!
