I'm staying out of the "roll cage street safety" debate, but consider this: a bolt-in cage does next-to-nothing for rigidity and adds weight. If the class you track the car in does not require a cage, you're effectively making your car slower and harder to get in and out of.

To clarify the comments here, I think people are recommending to not have a FULL cage on the street. That is, unless you wear a helmet every time you drive it. If the car will be street AND track driven, then you are wise to do a back-half cage. Even if it's a bolt-in, it will improve the safety of the car, plus you can then run 6-point harnesses and race seats. This is all a great safety upgrade. Keep in mind, though, that this must all be done as a package! Don't put harnesses on your stock seats, or harnesses and seats with no roll bar (back-half cage). It all needs to go together.
