May just come out to this. Last thing to do with the car before it goes away for the winter.

What does intake and exhaust do for class assignment?

SCCA rules

if it's just an intake and cat-back exhaust, and you're on OEM sized wheels (17X7) then you're in C-Stock

if you've changed your wheels to anything else then you're in STX

the 86 is not a magical car, you wouldn't really get any real benefit from 86 specific drivers

feel free to ask anyone for advice and hop into people's cars if they are willing to take you on

my only advice is:

1. if you're understeering, don't blame the car, simply brake earlier next time around

2. dont' bother chasing tenths through 1st gear downshifts, try to do clean runs in 2nd gear (unless you need to upshift to 3rd)

3. focus on memorizing the course, you will find that by simply completing a run cleanly and at a good pace you'll finish top 50% without even trying. I have been to events where people go off-course after 6 runs, or "forget" a turn or two and have to do evasive manuvers to get back in line, costing them many seconds.

As usual I'm looking for as cheap as I can get without being crappy quality. I'm guessing m helmets will be cheaper/less bulky? But maybe not acceptable for some events?

Thanks for your help man and thanks for posting this event in the forum!

Just run to Royal Distributing and grab an "M" helmet. SA are generally a little lighter material and lined with fire retardant material. They are also required if you are running a roll bar/cage.

Majority of those running autocross get an "M" helmet. It's cheaper and will pass safety at all events. If you ever want to go to the next step, SA is never a negative, but not a requirement.

came out to watch today, had full intention of participating, but ended up having my youngest daughter tag along so i wasn`t willing to leave her standing on the curb waiting while I was in line or out on course. So i brought the Dart and was content watching.

Enjoyed watching the Blue WRX spin it out a couple of times and the same with the S2000. There was a couple of FRS and a BRZ kicking around...

Daughter had a good time watching. The old nissan pickup without a box and no fenders was one of her favorites and the black FRS number 77.

Maybe next year i`ll get more time to come out but looks like the Chumpcar schedule is pretty full... we shall see..

Yeah my first fan! I was there sporting number 77 and my new helmet from jrp!

An interesting mix of cars at this one. The little homebrew electric car was amazing! That one was definitely my favorite.

A little disappointed at the lack of FR-S/BRZ turnout. I expected to see more. Next time everybody needs to get in there!

http://www.casc.on.ca/forums/showpos...4&postcount=60

Very dissapointed that after all the hype only 2 FRS showed up, only one of whom is a "new guy" (Frankie's been around the sport for awhile)

but thank you all who came out to specate!

maybe next season

as always, i'll try to post links to as many events as i'm aware of that i think are worth going to and feel free to contact me through PM with any questions regarding anything Time Attack or Auto Cross related.

Event has been a lot of fun! I was #57 with the Blue BRZ.

I had to change my driving style a little bit as I was used to the low speed PITL events...here we were able to go a little bit faster.

My first 2 runs were decent, then it started raining. So made the best out of it and practised my low grip driving control. Lots of sideways fun!

Hope to see everyone out next year.
