As someone who lives in New York and has access to some of the best restaurants in the world, i have yet to have Italian food i find amazing. Out of all the majority types of food (Greek, Japanese, French) its the most boring. Never went to Italy, don't really wanna go unless its to visit a car factory or road.

ahahahahahah a little story... first time I went in USA...(Florida) I flight from Turin to London and London to Miami...(BA).
So, no espresso from London to Miami...and this for 21 days (in USA I drunk horrible soups). On back...in London Airport I found an Illy coffee point.!!
In the while there I drunk 5/6 espresso.....after 3 weeks.
Later I wasn't able to have regular life during night for 2 weeks about, 3 hrs per night of sleep maximum. My eyes seemed like the front light of a Citroen Traction Avant....

But the real espresso must be short in short cup. Two fingers (hor) is the limit...over this limit we define SOUP.

the italian one that you can eat "for tourists" is worst than the worst...Spaghetti Hut i.g. in USA are subject IMHO of capital punishment as I saw horrible Yorker Steak and Thanksgiving turkey here. No comparison with the genuine american flavors and sauces.

Wow! Eataly! of course....I work at 5 minutes by the main Eataly in Turin, I know that in NY runs very well and Rome too. I think that there in NY you can find the genuine flavors. I hope that they haven't modified tastes for market reasons.
