Can you explain how you wired them that they dim?

Thanks for rubbing it in lol

Man I still can't believe they won't sell me those headlights and clear markers through a dealer.

I had mine installed by a local audio shop that i know really well. I did print out the DIY guide someone made on here for them and give them to him though, i think he still did his own thing a bit because he didn't like how they had wired them. I'll post up the DIY here:

http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=27813

Looks like he pretty much took the guide down (on my screen at least) but the guide is still there because someone quoted it pics and all. Post quote is #8.

The led strips are not installed by the dealers in the gst region. They are installed by gst as a Toyota part.

@frshadow did a diy. They have a circuit that attaches to the headlight power so when the headlight is on they switch to 50% power.

This is correct if that is the way you have it wired. There are so many settings you can have.

However I do like the way the leds accentuate the exterior, it brings almost a luxury perspective to the already common fog light scene.
If you want actual fog lights designed to put light on the road, go with the OEM fog lights. If you want some fancy light strips that likely weren't designed with any type of actual function in mind, get the LED strips.

The strips put out a good amount of light on the pavement. I can post a picture of them in action when it gets dark.

I can tape a flashlight to the front of my car that will put light on the road too. That doesn't mean it was designed to function as a fog light. Would be interested to see the output though.

I don't disagree with you on that point at all.

Here are the strips without the headlights on.

Combo of headlights and LED lamps:
