In my personal opinion it's silly to have them priced so close.

Now that we know what the FR-S (essentially a "base" BRZ) is going for; I really have to wonder what navigation, HIDs, Alcantara, keyless ignition, "premium sound," auto HVAC, and heated seats/mirrors are going to cost? Methinks it shouldn't be + $4,000 over the cost of the FR-S.

Different cars for generally different purposes/buyers.

Lots of BRZ buyers wouldn't want a WRX regardless of price (myself included) and I'm sure there are others with a WRX that would never switch to a 2 door coupe with RWD, mostly useless back seats and a small trunk compared to their car.

I'd guess about 3500-4000. Figure +1K for the BRZ premium IMO plus another 2500 or so for the limited over that. In my opinion anyways.

From last month:
Ok fine. I'll spill it.

Premium is $26,820 with destination, limited is 29,750 with destination.

We will see how close that info comes to reality. :P I believe I was over on the limited a bit.

IMO it sounds like Toyota raised their price point after the reviews started coming in and Subaru is now going to get screwed. Its total speculation, but explains the delay in pricing being available if the companies have been bickering about pricing. Initial estimates on the Scion were much lower.

I think for most(I'm sure people will disagree) these cars will be daily drivers. But people will also buy them because they want something that provides a little more than the basic point A to point B experience.

I doubt it. They'd be stupid to actually. Toyota isn't going to be that focused on such a short term plan that will destroy long term viability.

The prices have been more or less set for awhile. They know what they need to sell them for to make the eventual return off the development of the vehicle.

I don't disagree with that one bit

I'm just saying that if your needs made you buy a WRX than a BRZ likely won't suit those same needs. I'll be DD'ing my BRZ

Well, why don't you check out the price difference between a base WRX and a WRX Limited with Nav and get back to us. You're right, it shouldn't be $4,000. By rights, it should be more.

Probably is about 1k off each. Bad info at the time or I was just trying to get people upset...

How does Subaru screw Toyota? Prices BRZ premium $500 over FR-S.
