i was going to get a video to add of the 3rd gear pull just for comparison's sake with a low-boost turbo setup. it's a bit damp on the road right now so it just kept spinning the tires. i'll try again tomorrow.

i love this 'virtual racing'... cool stuff.

Keep it safe trying to avoid street racing at all costs.

Yeah, I'm just hoping for a 2nd/3rd gear pull maybe a little into 4th and back off. I'm not trying to cause any problems and don't need to win a street race to reassure my man hood. I would just like to show a head to head line up. Having driven both they aren't that far off but I think I'd pull a little bit on the vortech equipped cars.

Why don't we just go to the drag strip?

The videos in this case remove driver variables as you can start the runs at identical times.

You can do it on the street or drag strip but 8 out of 10 times, launch, reaction times etc will skew results.

Speaking of variables that skew results, under what weather conditions and at what altitude were these videos recorded?

Call me old fashioned (maybe just old) but I'll take a time slip or actual race over edited video any day.

Same temps, similar altitude. Humidity and and atmospheric pressure a variable.

This certainly does not replace real head to head runs. Take it for what its worth but sure as hell better than saying my dyno is better than yours.

QFT. If we have anyone with a Vortech around NC, and making similar power, I'd gladly go against them at a drag strip. for SCIENCE!

Needs similar power though (5whp + or -) and I think that'd be an AWESOME run.

I'd also love to see someone drive the two cars around a track, and see which one was quicker (same tires)

Oh yeah, much better than dyno racing. Thanks for taking the time to do this. I just wanted to point out some variables that will affect it like driver skill affects real world racing.

I'm down for that, I sort of want to benchmark where I'm at anyways. Usually take all my cars at least once. As mentioned it probably comes down to driver skill more than anything when you have two cars that are pretty closely matched. Plus people who don't hit the strip often just complain about not getting a good launch. No one is ever happy with their launch when you read these forums. I think @RedAlert has the fastest time at 13.9 among the Vortech kits. On street tires, I probably have an advantage off the line too. One of my buddy's with a 335i wants to go soon, so maybe in the next couple of weeks I will..or maybe Friday

Would be interesting though to see the difference after a track session, I really have no preference between the two kits but I imagine the Vortech would fair a bit better due to heat. Pure speculation though.
