Cost can have a surprising swing

I bought mine in the northeast and shipped it over (Limited BRZ). no haggling, I bought my Limited BRZ OTD for under 27K. Maybe if in the haggling mood, I could've gotten it to under 26K

Went to look at one with a buddy last week, OTD prices were topping 30K and one guy was asking close to 32K. In these cases, I can definitely see why going with the FRS is smarter

There are times where I catch myself wondering if I should've gone for the FRS just because it's more basic. I'm not a big fan of the nav unit and while the digital HVAC controls are spiffy, sometimes the good ole basics are the best. (I realize there are some more small differences but those are the big 2 I notice)

But at the price I got the Subaru at, never bothered cross shopping further

It's the same f*cking car for the most part. These threads are getting old. Everyone has their reasons for buying the car they wanted. I bet 99% of us picked the car, not swindled into a car they regret.

They had the first FR-S in town. A firestorm, which was waiting for it's owner to pick up. They let me sit in it and asked if I'd like to order one. Their terms were, $500 REfundable deposit and test drives are A-OK!! Needless to say, the only BRZ envy I have are the HID's.
Same experience here. The Subaru deal sucked.

Why does everyone feel the need to justify their purchase of an FRS over a BRZ? I got my FRS because I liked Hot Lava the best, and as someone said before me, Subaru is pretty far away and would have been inconvenient for maintenance. Who cares what anyone else thinks? Its your car and your money.

Because toyota has never denied me a warranty on any of my toyotas. And it subie likes to more it seemed. And now it seems that subie is supporting my idea.

I didn't need to justify anything with my choice of a FR-S over BRZ, mainly because I had an original '05 tC and loved the Scion brand.

There were really only 2 things about the BRZ that I absolutely hated... the price, and that soft "Grand Tourer" style front end look. Now, that being said, i'd still buy one if the FR-S didn't exist... it's all personal preference anyways which brings me to this point:

ENJOY WHAT YOU PURCHASED AND LEAVE THE TWINS DEBATE TO THOSE WHO DO NOT HAVE ONE!!!

Seriously, enough is enough around here...

All of the parts like push start and digital climate control can be put on a FR-S from a BRZ.

It's called buying the parts cheap from a salvage company.

The sole reason I bought a BRZ was because I didn't want to be an FR-S owner with an inferiority complex.

Kidding!

But seriously, these types of threads are dumb and annoying.

I bought the fr-s with trunk mat and be-spoke for 25.4 out the door.

No brz deal was going to touch that in my area. In fact BRZ at most dealership was a wait list unless you wanted a auto tranny (which defeats the purpose of the car for me).

I like the FR-S bumper styling better, the 86 badges on it, and the suspension better anyways.

LOLZ...I don't think a vast majority of FR-S deals can come close to that pricing either when msrp is $25,255 to begin with. False equivalence?

Congrats on your deal though!

I wanted the frs but after sitting in both the BRZ is a lot nicer, plus when I was ready to buy it was all I could find. And for some reason the insurance was cheaper for the BRZ than the FRS.
