I noticed that the crickets go away whenever I use ethanol free gas. I see you're from Tampa, and there's a few ethanol free stations in the bay area. Maybe try one of those?

Nobody ever posts things like "10k miles and everythings going fantastic" since they're too busy having fun lmao. People only talk about problems so it seems like there's a lot of them.
About 1200 miles, everything is going fantastically. I have zero complaints about this car.

keep your car stock.
In case new problems coming up at least you are not wasting money for this lemon and dealers will not refuse any warranty work.

What's wrong with yours? If worst comes to worst, the US has a decent "Lemon Laws".

14000 miles and no major issues.

High-mount brake light stopped working, replaced under warranty.
Crickets, ehh.
Condensation, only when cold.
SLIGHT rpm dip, every fuel injected car I've owned does it.
Package tray click, fixed myself.

So far nothing is wrong, thankfully.
But looking at problems faced by others I am planning to keep mine as stock as possible.

Understand you have better regulations about lemon and warranty work.
But still, if the car proven to be lemon in the future, I don't want to waste money for something I might regret and might not add resale value.

We will only know in 2-3 years for the reliability.
For now, I just enjoy the car. For me even in stock form the car is really good

This is exactly what I'm thinking.
I am interested in adding a supercharger, but not till Scion gets the idle issue worked out. I will not let a blown engine lean out and detonate at idle. No way.

Fix it Scion!

I only have 2500 miles on the car and it does have crickets once and awhile. However, it drives great and I love my FR-s. I was watching a Top Gear show last night they were test driving super cars, LFA, DBs and the new Viper. All very nice cars. But cost an arm and all legs, $$$$$$$$$$$. I drive my car everyday. I leaves the garage spotless. I turns heads everywhere it goes. I have only done minor upgrades. I puts a smile on my face every time I drive it. The best part of all this is it only cost me $25,000.00 The three above cars cost a lot more, a lot more. I could never buy one of those cars. But and have FR-s. So enjoy the FR-s and have fun driving it.

However, Toyota does need to fix the crickets as its just not pleasant to listen to. But your car won't blow up.
I took mine in to get the "new part number" installed and the crickets are worse. So im just going to have a car that makes cricket noises from now on im not taking it in again.

Package tray click, not fixed yet, someday when it bothers me enough
