Quite a few modern cars come with forged pistons; the GT-R being one of them. It wouldn't be a terrible surprise if the FA20 came with forged pistons, but only if the overall price of the car was higher.

The Evo X has forged Mahle pistons. Yum. But I'm pretty sure these are just cast. However, I know I saw somewhere that the rods and crank are forged steel...

OEM cars with forged pistons are generally forced induction from the factory. It's more common to see forged con rods & crank on an N/A car than forged pistons.

Senior Scion rep here when asked said that a S/C would not be a simple bolt-on, because of the high compression ratio the pistons would have to be changed. Sounds like mucho $. He did say Toyota has plans though.

Not enirtly true, most trd superchargers run low boost, 5-6 psi is expected, 250 hp...

Tip: Better to beef up the bottom then waste time at the top. More likely to throw a con-rod out the side of the block then melt a hole through the piston (unless you do something really stupid with the fuel).
But if you have weak ringlands on the piston it's another story.

Interesting. If it's a dealer install, I assume it will not void our warranty?

Of course depending on where the added 50 or lbs go adding a S/C may require re-optimization of springs/shocks, so that would get expensive too.

most likely cast, the car is the too cheap for it to have forged.

Probably cast, however most if not all modern Toyota 4's (yes yes, I know, Subaru, blah blah blah) come with forged cranks. I don't expect this to be any different.

Nothing voids a warranty, however, the dealer may elect not to perform a warranty repair based on perceived abuse and/or modification.

Whether a supercharger carries a warranty depends on a few factors: if it only requires a re-flash of the stock ECU, doesn't use an external intercooler, doesn't require modification/replacement of stock exhaust manifold, and passes California Air Resources Board (CARB) certification, it will be included in the powertrain warranty. If it doesn't, it'll be a "race-only" part for off-highway use only and not carry a warranty no matter where it is installed.

However, if they say it won't be a simple bolt-on, they might as well release it as a separate model.

Just Aluminum Alloy cast.
Side skirts have a resin coating.
The Top ring groove has a alumite coating.

The crankshaft is forged steel
