FWIW, I already have 30k miles, all pretty mellow DD driving, and I am shopping for tires as soon as I leave the forum...

Up to 16K and just got my tires rotated. Tread still looks damn good. I am guessing anywhere from 20-30K under normal driving. My old Jetta 2.5 08 SE, I did 56K on the OEM tires and they still had some tread.

Can someone confirm that the weight of the car where the tires are mounted on can also affect wear? If this is true, then we can expect a longer life on our Primacys because our cars are relatively lighter.

With everything else being equal (driving habits, distance traveled, tire, etc.), yes, lighter cars will have less tire wear than a heavier car.

The excuse is they are all season-30k miles at least. Right now you need "Summer" tires. Justify it- They go back on in winter ! therefore you are not wasting the tires.

I like your thinking! I've been trying to justify buying new rims and tires but this sealed it for me lol

exactly, primacy hp are grand touring summer tires with low rolling resistance.
they still suck though. Your excuse should be you need high performance summer tires. |

Shame on Michelin for making them as GT tires, yet they're noisy as heck at highway speeds. The noise in my tires kick in at exactly 100km/h, like there was an on/off switch!
