Same here. I want to be able to tune myself with the ability to lock tunes if chosen to in order to preserve intellectual property. I understand this need and EcuTek does this but it leaves the end user a slave to a "Master" tuner. I do not want to have to depend on a tuner who has hundreds of requests coming in for petty tweeks when I could just be fixing it myself or tuning it from the start myself. Not to mention there are those of us who are equally creative in tuning methods that can contribute to the better of the community. Sure there are those who will get into something they shouldn't resulting in engine failure but that is the risk you take when playing with something that may be over your head. Nothing at all against EcuTek so please don't take it that way but some end user function would be fantastic.

I chose based on reputation of the tuner (customer service/past work) and safety/reliability of the tune. Price and ease of install are irrelevant if the aforementioned criteria aren't met.

I didn't vote because I never really considered one. Mainly due to me being scared of losing warranty and/or just messing something up. If I throw an aftermarket exhaust on though I would assume it would be a good idea?

I chose based on reputation. Although, somedays I wonder how it would be if I supported local and went to a local tuner. haha
