It Changed from a "i" to an "I" in 2006 .

At some point, it WAS a lower case "i" so go easy on em

Once they change their logo to represent STI it will always be STi to me.

We'll have to resolve this the manly way--one slap allowed for Ichi for anyone who uses those three fateful letters incorrectly.

And just to make the point that this organization is as much a marketing tool as a development arm (i.e. don't get too caught up in the STI must have a turbo to be an "STI") you can buy things like "driving socks" and a "sports towel" along with actual bits for your car on their site.

Perhaps we should avoid this fate by only using the full name, Subaru Tecnica International.

STI does not stand for Turbo, it stands for Hard-Core. So forget a turboed BRZ and go get a WRX, which stands for turbo.

That was almost about the time they went hatchback, so I refuse to accept STI, because it was when they ruined it for me. 4-door Sedan with Big-Wing only!

So (sorry ichi) I will continue to call it an STi.

  • WRX was lighter
  • WRX had a VF52 turbo which output more HP than the STI's turbo

However, after 60mph the wrx will lose to the STi

STI is just a name. Just like how TRD is just a name. =\
WRX (2009+) has 265hp and 244 lb-ft whereas STI has 305hp and 290 lb-ft. Not sure what you mean by the VF52 outputting more than the STI VF48 which is basically the same turbo except for flange that hooks up to the IC.

Depends on which STi turbo and also not when the car is stock.

If you wanna call over 15yrs a new school then yes, I'm new to Subaru. My family have been Nissan fan. Specially my father's side, they own few Skylines in the pass & even now.

I never said anything bout emblem did I? Also I myself own GM6 & if I ever do the turbo swap, I'll be calling it STi.
