as much as is sounds wrong, the ls is the only right answer. also, i laughed a little because were calling things too expensive in a thread about swapping a motor into a brand new car (especially since the 2jz was an option). im as big a toyota fanboy as anyone but the lsx pretty much beats the shit out of the 2jz in every single aspect.

You don't like LS engines because parts are available at AutoZone? That makes no sense... Pretty sure you can find parts for Toyotas there as well!
To fit a heavy upright turbo inline 6 without major mods (like butchering the firewall and moving front seats aft) will be a challenge and will result in weight distribution going from not so good to truly abysmal.

Be revolutionary with the JZ. Do a 1JZ with the late gen VVT-i head from the IS300's 2JZ. Then cams/valvetrain, a true parallel twin turbo setup and rev it to 8500 and thank the 1JZ's short stroke.

The sound will give people so many orgasms right in their ears that they won't even care that your car now goes around corners like an empty 2wd pickup in the rain.

What do you consider big power? 1000hp? Then a swap is justifiable. But I think our engines can handle up to 5-600 without internals

The V8 has been discussed, but not the 1/2jz.

No, i don't like the "duralast" parts... they are cheap shit... I honestly don't care how much it will cost me in the end, but im either going with the 1j or 2j swap. I believe there is already motor mounts for them anyway.

I actually thought about doing the 1j due to the faster revs... I will keep that in mind. Thanks for the advice bro.
