North America to get Subaru version but not Toyota version?

It would be so stupid for Toyota to spend the time and money to co-develop this car and then purposely not sell it in their biggest market (north america). Unless they have some kind of agreement with Subaru that Subaru gets exclusive right to sell their version of this car in the US, I don't see the Toyota version being sold only in Japan/Europe.

That's just a test mule out for testing and under extreme camoflage. There's all kinds of weird panels and coverings bolted on to mask the true design underneath. Can't tell much from this other than that it's going to be a short car, just like the FT-86.

I agree with some of the other guys... Toyota's version has to be coming here too not just subaru's version

It has to do with Subaru's symmetrical AWD design.

I highly doubt there will be a Subaru AWD variant. To do so would undercut sales of their own 'hero' car, the WRX...

Good point. But I suspect most people would prefer to have an awd sedan over an awd 2+2 coupe

Not if the awd 2+2 coupe looks better. Especially since the typical WRX driver is a young guy, he probably cares more about the car's looks than having 2 extra doors and more backseat space.

No offense to anyone, but I can't see RWD subie... Yeah, I know there's some in D1 and Formula D and blah blah blah, but stock... No way. Subie is famous for Boxer Engine AWD

obviously you've never heard of Subaru Justy or a host of other non-US Subaru models that are not AWD. just because a regional marketing strategy is focused on a set of features doesn't mean they don't/can't/won't make it. my worry is that the folks at Subaru USA will have their marketing slogans so far up their butt and fear about "brand dilution" that they forget the number one mission Subaru exists: sell cars people want, and it's obvious to me that people want a light weight AWD coupe with a turbo 2.5L engine

Yes, I know Justy is. It was running EF10 & 12 engine (correct me if I'm wrong) and you know that some Justy came 4WD. Also Earlier had EJ16 & 18 FWD Impreza's. Yes, I know most of Subie that came out (not all).

I'm just saying that Subie is well known for Boxer AWD now. Only few know bout bout those FWD Subies.
