I'd say January. Chicago isn't a large show compared to Detroit and companies usually like to release major news at large shows. They need to release it as early as possible so people can figure out how much longer they need to eat ramen noodles for

I have a hunch that they have been telling the reviewers different estimates or something about a few k's more. So that when we hear the real price, everyone will say ohh look it's cheaper than we originally thought.

I'm really hoping for official pricing and EPA numbers at the NAIAS, simply because I'm going to be there, and those are the only things I'm waiting on before I drop down a deposit.

Chicago is the largest and longest running autoshow in the nation. Just saying. Gives them more time to work on features/options and pricing.

I went to both the Detriot and NYC auto show for the BMW 1M.

There was LOTS of misinformation from the BMW reps. In fact the BMW forum was right on versus these clowns.

If it is not written on a brochure, take it with a grain of salt.

I did not buy the 1M.

In terms of square footage (and timeline by 6 years) that's true. That doesn't make it a large autoshow in terms of what happens at the show. Just like NY has the most people and LA is the earliest. NAIAS is still regarded as the biggest and most important auto show in the country.

Last year Chicago had these introductions:
2012 Acura TL
2012 Buick Regal with eAssist
2012 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1
2011 Chrysler 200 Convertible
2012 Dodge Charger SRT8
2011 Dodge Durango Heat
2012 Hyundai Genesis (including 5.0 R-Spec)
Hyundai Veloster rally car
2011 Mazda MX-5 Miata Special Edition
2011 Ram 1500 Tradesman
2011 Ram 3500 HD
2012 Shelby GT350 Convertible
2011 Toyota Matrix
2012 Volkswagen Jetta GLI

By comparison NAIAS had 55 new vehicles, 35 of which were world reveals. If you look at that Chicago show list most of those reveals are crap (as far as importance is concerned) too. A durango heat? a special edition miata? A Ram 1500 tradesman?

NAIAS is also the only US show distinguished by OICA as a Major International auto show. Edmunds calls it the biggest too.

So yes, by space and timeline the Chicago one is older and larger, but by importance to the automotive industry/community, it's not very important at all.

I won't disagree with you. Just wanted to make the point that Chicago is not a dinky auto show and that Subaru could use it as a venue to release pricing. Detroit, they release USDM version and possible options (or state still to be determined) and figure they can draw this out until February to nail pricing down as it will be closer to launch. Or maybe they release everything in Detroit or just leak the info to the media.

I hope not 'cause it's 'impacted' not 'impacting'.

All I know is the Canadian pricing is going to be the last to come out and will be significantly more than the US. It always sucks.

All I know is that we need some new info sooner then later. The threads and arguments about assumed prices and options are driving me crazy.

Sure news will bring on more stupidity, but at least it will be stupidity with actual facts behind them.

I'm willing to bet they release at Chicago. Seems to be in Subaru's tradition to make their reveals at that particular auto show.
