Did my first clutch drop at 500 miles. Easy shifting/normal driving beforehand. I feel like the "break in" argument is going to go on FOREVER...on another note, this makes me feel more confident that I can beat my friend's v6 camaro....and after some mods I'm aiming for the local civics lmao...in a controlled area of course...this video is idiotic but hey happens with every car...I mean shit look up "brand new camaro/corvette/viper/mustang burnout" on youtube....

Other than speeding on a public road, I didn't see anything egregiously reckless in this video...

In any case, who ever says they beat or even raced a V6 Mustang? No one. That's because no one cares about V6 Mustangs.
i haven't seen the vid and can't view it at work, but I'm assuming v6 in this vid was an older model? from the spec sheet, the v6 doesn't look all that slow to me...

is this owner on the boards? i have ZERO respect for morons like this, obviously a fucking mustang is involved

once you push the car to its limits on the track, you quickly learn that it is down right stupid to come near those limits on the street. let alone on those shitty stock tires.

by that dash and steering wheel lay out thats a mid/late 90's stang. they are slow as fuck. makes the brz look like a racecar...

Sigh...all the silly break in arguments again. I beat the piss out of my car from mile 0, I changed my clutch out for a 6 puck clutch at about 6k miles and the clutch disk looks dan near perfect. On top of that i have had zero issues, no CEL's, no crazy idle dipping, nothing. If you go back and look at the issues being had and ask them how they broke in their cars you'll likely find that just a handful actually didn't follow procedure.

Engines nowadays are most often broken in at the factory...they do engine tests on each engine to make sure the thing won't grenade after it's been installed. Suggested break in periods are more for car familiarity than engine life.

Here's a pic of my clutch disk:

And a random picture of grumpy cat...because it's relevant.

first 20 min of an engine's life are most important.. all that happens at the end of the assembly line when they do the shakedown testing.

Look at it that way and none of us got to "break in" our cars. All we did over the fist however many miles was get the ecu to learn in. .. I started giving mine hell around 600 mi.

As for the jackhole in the vid.. I'm surprised he didn't wreck it in the vid.. but .. who knows. Maybe a few months? First time he beats on it like that in the rain he's going to get a real interesting surprise.
