Good chance (not guarantee) that the fuel line connections were done incorrectly during the fuel pump swap.
What a damn waste! At least crashed cars can be parted out to some extent.

Sounds like they stuffed up big time! Glad you're safe and hope you get a new car out of it
Had a friend that had his car serviced and fuel lead was not corrected correctly and sprayed fuel all over the engine before igniting. Had him and his whole family in the car and luckily they all got out safely. End result same as yours - burnt out car. Sounds like they have done a similar thing on yours. .
